Production Log - entry 17

During the half-term I have been making sure that my blog is up to scratch, as well as completing my evaluation questions as I do not have access to InDesign at home so have been unable to work on my magazine.
I have completed 6 out of 7 evaluation questions and will write out the final one once my magazine is fully completed. Then I will need to turn them into other forms of media, rather than just short essays.

In order to improve my blog, I have added detail to my old production logs and have tried to add images or videos to make it more of a multi-media blog. Also, I have realized that I need to upload some of my planning work which is on my School computer account, so I will do that during my free periods this week.

My magazine is nearly done, with just some small final touches to add, therefore for the rest of the time up until the deadline, I will be able to focus solely on my blog & evaluation.

Production Log - entry 16

Recently I have been keeping track of anything in the news that is about the Urban Music Industry to see if there is anything else that I could add to my magazine.
One of the biggest things to happen was probably Beyonce's performance and the short reunion of Destiny's Child.

These reunions seem to be increasingly popular with the Spice Girl tour last year and other bands announcing their one-off reunion tours, it seemed like this was the best time for Urban's favorite girl group.

This has influenced my choice in what to put on my contents page as I have focused mainly on solo stars that are conventional of Urban music, however I think in order to make my magazine seem more exclusive, there should be an article about the reunion of a huge urban band on the contents page. This will make my magazine seem more contemporary & up-to-date

Production Log - entry 15

Before the lesson today I had taken more photographs in a studio shoot in order to get an image for my front cover. I have chosen a clos-up of jade holding headphones as I think it makes it clear that Base is a music magazine.
I then changed the font and size of my sell lines, however this was quite time consuming as I had to use trial and error to eliminate the fonts that didn't look as effective.
By looking at existing magazine front covers, I understood how my front cover should be layed oput to look realistic and professional and look forward to completely finishing the magazine next lesson, so that in following lessons I can focus on making sure that my blog is up to a high standard.

Production Log - entry 14

In today's lesson I wrote all of the sell lines on my contents page and ensured that the page numbers were realistic. I also re-read my article as there were a few spelling mistakes and some of the dates needed changing. I then realised that my article was slightly too short, therefor I added more detail to one of the paragraphs in order to make sure that the article filled the page properly.

When writing the sell lines on my contents page, I used the information from my last production log research in order to create interesting article titles.

Next lesson I will work on my front cover and ensure it is basically finished, therefore I will only have to isert the photographs after my second photoshoot on Tuesday afternoon.
